These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and us. If you refuse to accept these terms, you will not be able to order any products from our site. These terms tell you who we are, how we will provide products to you, how you and we may change or end the Contract, what to do if there is a problem and other important information. Please read these terms carefully before you submit your order to us.


GLD Furniture is a website owned and managed by Gerard Lewis Designs Limited. Gerard Lewis Designs are the designers and makers of the furniture sold on the GLD Furniture website. In these terms and conditions “we” and “us” refers to Gerard Lewis Designs.

The successful placement of your order is deemed your acceptance of these terms & conditions. Our acceptance of your order will take place when we email a confirmation of order to you confirming we accept it.  You will be contacted via e-mail within 24hrs (or next working day) with details of your order and any further information. Please ensure you check that all the details are correct; this paperwork is then passed to the production department to make your furniture. Contact us as soon as possible if anything is incorrect or not as expected. If you do not contact us at this point a contract will come into existence between you and us. In the unlikely event that we are unable to accept your order, we will notify you as soon as possible. Non-acceptance of an order may be as a result of one of the following: We have made a product pricing or description error, or we have been unable to obtain authorisation for your payment.


Every piece of furniture is handmade by our team of skilled craftsmen. Due to the bespoke nature of the furniture available for purchase from the GLD Furniture website, under The Consumer Contracts Regulations (June 2014) you, the consumer, do not have the right to cancel your order once you have received a confirmation of order from GLD. This confirmation of Order is used by the production department to make your item(s) of furniture. If you feel you have made a mistake in full or in part of your order, and do want to cancel, or make amendments to your order, we will accept phone call cancellations and amendments, followed by a cancellation in writing with the details of any amendments required. This needs to be made in writing within 48 hours of having placed your order via the website. For speed, please use the email info@gerardlewisdesigns.com to write to us. It is critical you let us know of your desire to change or cancel your order prior to furniture going into production.

In the event that you do decide to cancel your order within the 48 hour window prior to your bespoke furniture going into production you will be re-imbursed in full, including delivery charges, via electronic banking within 14 days of your cancellation.

We will retain details of your order in our database and these details can be made available to you on request by emailing us at info@gerardlewisdesigns.com.


Images of the Goods on the website are for illustrative purposes only. Representations of colour online are as accurate as our photographic and electronic processes will allow. Please note that colour online can also be affected by the calibrations of different output devices.

All weights and sizes are supplied as a guide only and are approximate.

Should there be any errors regarding the price or description of Goods or Services, we reserve the right to correct that price or description and notify you accordingly. In these circumstances, it will be deemed that a contract has not been entered into and you will not be bound to continue with your purchase. The repayment of such monies paid to us will be the extent of our liability to you in the event of these errors.


It is your responsibility to ensure that you input and submit your Order correctly and accurately, including providing all additional information pertaining to your Order. You will have the opportunity to correct errors before placing the order and an order summary (with details of the goods and the total price inclusive of taxes and all delivery charges and other costs will be displayed directly before you pay for your order, at which point your order will be considered placed. Please note that we are not responsible for any errors you make when you input and submit, and effectively place your Order.


All Prices are shown in pounds sterling. If you wish to purchase our products and you live outside the UK, then please contact us by phone and email for a quote. The price of the Goods and Services is inclusive of VAT.


GLD Furniture accepts payments on the gldfurniture.com website via Klarna; if you would like to spread the cost of your purchase, or via PayPal. If you wish to engage our services for other bespoke items of furniture to be made for you then please contact Gerard Lewis Designs via email and we can accept BACS payments for other bespoke projects. We will not make a direct copy of any other designer(s), company(s) furniture.

All payments that are made on our website are protected by a secure connection. This secure connection ensures that your payment details are encrypted prior to transfer to the bank for authorisation. As an additional security measure, no credit or debit card details submitted online are stored directly by us once your order has been processed. They are stored in encrypted form by our payment providers.


In cooperation with Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden, we offer you the option to ‘Pay later’ or ‘Slice It’. Payment is to be made to Klarna. Further information and Klarna’s user terms and general information you can find on their website. Your personal data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection law and in accordance with the information in Klarna’s privacy statement.

We work hard to ensure that all our goods are delivered to you in perfect condition. Before an item of furniture is dispatched for delivery a photograph is taken of the item with the order details. If your item is damaged during the delivery process please check all items of furniture before you sign the delivery note, since this confirms the goods arrived to you in perfect condition. If, however the damage or fault could not be seen or easily discerned visually please contact info@gerardlewisdesigns.com within 24 hours of receipt to report the damage. Returns must be made within 14 days of receipt. Photographic evidence of the damage will be required. We will then contact you to discuss a replacement or refund option. We cannot accept responsibility of damages after 48 hours. If the furniture is damaged at the time the furniture is delivered the goods are to be refused by the customer and not to be signed for.


All products are sold on the basis that they are suitable for domestic use only. Please contact us for further information if you intend using any products in a business or public environment. Gerard Lewis Designs can and does design and make furniture for hotels and showhouses and for other contract environments. Please contact info@gerardlewisdesigns.com if you want to put any other items shown on the website in a contract setting, where we may then make slight alterations to the manufacturing process.


To make sure you are completely satisfied with your furniture the delivery team will ask you to sign for your furniture after is has been delivered. All deliveries will be pre-booked and must be signed for. If you are out when our delivery team arrives, they will leave a card with a contact number for you to call them and arrange a delivery at a future date. Please note that there will be an additional charge for failed delivery where the failure to deliver is no fault of GLD Furniture. No compensation will be offered for late deliveries in any event. We deliver to the whole of the UK mainland. We also deliver to the remote areas of the UK including the Scottish Highlands, Scottish Isles, Ireland, The Isle Of Man and The Isle Of Wight. Delivery charges to remote areas may incur a surcharge, which is calculated by the size and weight of your order. Please contact us at the point of ordering your furniture for a delivery cost if you live in the more remote areas of the UK.


Our delivery teams are trained to install your furniture successfully, but it is your responsibility to ensure easy access to the room of your choice. Before placing an order, please measure carefully to ensure that your furniture will fit into the room it’s intended for and that it will also fit through any passages, access gates, stairwells, landings, and internal doors, including space for manoeuvring and turning. Prior to your delivery, please ensure the route is clear and free from obstructions such as pictures and ornaments. Should you have any concerns over access, then please note them on the comments box on your order or contact us by email or call for free on 01206 381 888 for further assistance.


The Site and all the elements within it such as trademarks, logos, designs and models, texts, photographs, etc, including the software elements necessary for the functioning of the ite and databases, are the exclusive property of Gerard Lewis Designs Limited.

Any reproduction, representation, adaptation (including translation) or any other use of the site or its content (whether total or partial) is strictly prohibited. Any infringement shall constitute an act of counterfeiting and/or unfair competition, which may result in civil and/or criminal penalties for the author.


Where we are prevented from or delayed in carrying out obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our control including, without limitation, acts of God, governmental actions, war or national emergency, riot, civil commotion, fire, explosion, flood, inclement weather, epidemic, pandemic, lock-outs, strikes or other labour disputes (whether or not relating to our workforce), or restraints or delays affecting carriers or an inability or delay in obtaining supplies of adequate or suitable materials then either our  performance of its obligations shall be postponed for the period of time that the circumstances continue.


The information contained in this website is for general information purposes only. Every effort is made to ensure that all the information provided by Gerard Lewis Designs on the GLD Furniture website is up to date and correct, including ensuring that prices quoted are correct at the time of publishing and that all products have been fairly described. We make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability with respect to the website or the information, products, services, or related graphics contained on the website for any purpose. Any reliance you place on such information is therefore strictly at your own risk. Gerard Lewis Designs shall not be liable to any person for any loss or damage which may arise from the use of any of the information contained in any of the materials on this website.

Every effort is also made to keep the website up and running smoothly. However, Gerard Lewis Designs takes no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, the website being temporarily unavailable due to technical issues beyond our control.
In no event will we be liable for any loss or damage including without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damage whatsoever arising from loss of data or profits arising out of, or in connection with, the use of this website.


Contracts for the purchase of goods or services through our site shall be governed by English law. Any dispute arising from, or related to, such contracts shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

We reserve the right to amend these terms and any document referred to in these terms at any time. You are expected to check this page and its linked pages from time to time to take notice of any changes we make as they are binding on you.


Your privacy is important to us. We only use the information we collect about you carefully, lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
Information we hold:
If you have shopped with us we will hold your name, address, telephone number and email address. We will also hold the delivery address(es) for your orders and the password information associated with your account. We also maintain a record of your product selections.
We will not disclose or pass on your details to any third party. We will use your email address to contact you to advise of any promotional offers or new product ranges. If you do not wish to be contacted, please contact our office by email info@gerardlewisdesigns.com and we will remove you from our mailing list. We will never sell your details to a third party.
